Brooklyn based artist, chef, and facilitator Deanna Greene works at the intersection of soil science and sensory experience. A New Jersey native, she has acute awareness of our complicated relationship to land and learned to love the natural world in landscape that bears the scars of industry. Deanna has Master of Professional Studies in Plant Science from Cornell University. Her professional culinary background in New York City serves as the foundation for her experimental and interactive installations.
Guided by the belief that we advocate for what we feel connected to, she uses the intimacy of tasting and gathering to transform abstract scientific concepts into visceral human experiences. With years of experience as an educator and facilitator, Greene has refined a practice that makes science communication accessible, memorable, and delicious. She has done pop-ups, installations and shown work in New Jersey, New York City, The Finger Lakes, Hudson Valley and internationally in Australia.
